What is Pestemal?

It is a woven cloth that is used to cover the waist below in the peshtamal bath or wrapped from the waist to prevent the clothes from getting dirty while working. The traditional clothing used by Buldan women in ancient times, silk ones are called Fota and Futa. It entered Turkish from Persian.

Peshtemal, which has become a trend due to its fast drying and does not take up space, is still used today as a beach towel, a sunbed cover, and a bath towel in summer.

Peshtemal, which appeals to the style and taste of its users with its many weaving forms, is passed down from generation to generation.
